Saturday Recipe Swap- Taco Ring

This recipe is quick, easy, and looks great in presentation. It will look like you have spent hours (but you didn't!). The recipe is from The Pampered Chef Main Dishes cookbook.

Taco Ring
  • 3/4 pound ground meat
  • 1 package taco seasoning mix
  • 1 cup (4 ounces) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 packages refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 medium bell pepper (optional- it serves as a salsa holder in the center of the ring. You can just use a small cup if you like.)
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 3 cups lettuce, shredded
  • 1/4 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup pitted ripe olives
  • sour cream (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Brown ground meat. Drain.
  2. Combine meat with taco seasoning mix, cheese, and water.
  3. Unroll crescent dough; separate into triangles. Arrange triangles in a circleon a round stone of baking sheet with long points towards the outside of the circle.
  4. Using a scoop, scoop meat mixture evenly onto widest end of each triangle. Bring points of triangle over filling and tuck under the wide ends of the dough in the center of the ring.
  5. Bake 20-25 minutes.
  6. Cut the top off of the bell pepper (if you choose to use one). Discard top, membranes, and seeds. Fill with salsa.
  7. Shred lettuce and chop the tomato and onion.
  8. Place bell pepper (or salsa cup) in the center of the ring. Arrange lettuce, tomato, onion, and olives.
  9. Yields 8 servings.
