Give Praise in the Assembly

Psalm 22:22- I will tell of Thy name to my brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will praise Thee. During these times I think it is important for us to praise God for His provisions. So many times it is easy for us to look at the negative around us and allow it to seep into our attitude, to become disgruntled or ungrateful. However, it is so necessary that we take stock of the blessings of God in our lives. By doing that, we will have less reason to be negative and critical and more reason to be thankful.

Brian is a business telephone technician and (in my humble opinion) the best one at that. When we are watching TV and a business phone is being used, he can tell you what kind of phone it is and whether or not that type of business would even have a phone like that (it is amazing how inaccurate some portrayals can be- surprise, surprise). He has fixed so many phone systems and phone problems by using the God given gift he has been blessed with (no manuals involved). When we were dating, he would go up to the phones in the aisles around the store, figure out what kind of phone it was, which system they were using, and then push a button and speak over the loud speaker (I wanted to melt into the floor).

Back in February, work had become slow. There were days that the guys would go into work and just stay in the office because there were no service calls or jobs for them do. Thankfully, he is guaranteed 40 hours worth of pay regardless of what the times are. Companies had stopped ordering phone systems, and there were no major installs to be done. He took a few vacation days to help out the company. I have a picture of Brian's brother/boss and his family on our piano. Every time I passed the picture during the day, I would pray for them and for the business. Brian and I both prayed that God would bless them above what they could handle. God answered that prayer down to the letter. The business continued to have a steady flow of business throughout the spring and summer. However, it does not stop there. Just recently, the company received several calls for installs and phone system purchases. There is so much relief and joy right now.

God is always faithful (my mother told me that two days before she died). Although we cannot always see His hand in motion, He has a plan that is already working. A youth pastor I was under at one time put it this way, "For 432 years, the children of Israel cried out to God for deliverance from slavery. What they didn't know was that there was a basket (containing a baby to be named Moses) floating down the river holding the answer to their prayer inside."

You may have been before the Lord in prayer about something for a while now. Do not worry. Your answer just may be floating down the river on its way to you. God's answer to our requests always comes on time.
