On Friday morning, Addie and I were in the office watching "The Pirates That Don't Do Anything". I was on the computer and she was eating eggs and stringing beads on a length of yarn.
"Mom, you're my mommy."
"Yep!"
"And Grandma Ana is your Mommy."
"Uh-huh."
"Where is your mommy?"
"In Heaven with Jesus."
"Do you miss her?"
"Yes, Addie, I do."
"But you still have your daddy?"
"Yes."
"Oh, that's good!"
Sometimes a simple conversation helps you take stock of what you still have.
