If there is one thing that God has given to women it is ingenuity. He has put a drive in us to use the gifts we have in order to help our families in any way that we can.

My mother had an amazing gift in they way of..... well, in everything! But she began using the specific talents of teaching and decorating to make a little extra money, not for herself but to bless her family. She tutored children, she made flower arrangements and sold them on ebay (before Etsy became the place to sell homemade goods), and she used to make all types of floral arrangements that were sold in a store at the Menlo Park Mall when we lived in New Jersey.
