Not Afraid

Here in Florida, we have some pretty severe thunderstorms. Severe enough to sometimes scare the adults as well as the children.

Early on, as Addie would hear the thunder, I would tell her that God was just showing how powerful and strong He is. When the lightning would flash and put on its show, I would tell her what Job 38:35 says, "Do you send the lightning bolts on their way? Do they report to you, 'Hear we are'?" and explain to her that the lightning has to tell God where it is going to strike.

On Sunday night as we were heading to the car to go out to eat, we heard the thunder in the distance and saw the wet ground after the rain had passed.

In her typical child-like, happy-go-lucky way, Addie said, "I'm not afraid of the rain and fun-der. God will take care of us."

I wanted to jump up and down. Instead, I hugged her and gave her a squeeze and a kiss on the cheek.

Be encouraged, if you are in the "constant teaching" season of life right now. Keep teaching, keep repeating. They will get it.
