Some pictures of the actual battle demonstration. This was not reenacting an actual Civil War battle, just demonstrating how a battle would have been fought.
The young guy with the black paint on his face is a freshman fighter. This was his first reenactment battle. The paint was not just part of his initiation, but also let the other "fighters" know that he was a rookie.

Today I learned that the age group that held the most soldiers during the Civil War was the 14-18 year old group. In many ways, it was a war that was fought by boys. However, their maturity surpasses that of 14-18 year old today.
