Saturday Recipe Swap: Chicken Broccoli Braid

It's been a while since I've posted a recipe, so here is a really good one to make up for me slacking off.  It is from Mom's (my mom's) kitchen and was a winner every time she made it.  I recently came across it again and have to make it for Brian (and Addie, of course).

Chicken Broccoli Braid

3 large chicken breasts
2 cups fresh broccoli (frozen works, too)
1/2 small onion (minced)
1 tsp. lemon juice
dash of pepper
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 cup mayonnaise
2 cans of refrigerated crescent rolls

Directions

1. Cook chicken in 1 cup water. Add salt to taste for 15-20 min. Cool, drain water, and shred chicken.

2. Mix all ingredients together (except crescent rolls). Lay out both cans of crescent rolls. Flatten and press together. Lay mixture into center. Fold ends over the mixture and press ends together. Cut equal slits in dough on both sides of mixture. Cook 375* until golden.
