Big God, Little Girl

Last night I had one of those moments where I got to teach Addie once again that our big and awesome God cares deeply for little, bitty her.

After Awana, Addie always asks for ice cream.  Sometimes we wait until we get home and sometimes we just don't get it because of obedience issues.  Last night, Addie was going to get ice cream.  I had a coupon for a free Chik-Fil-A kids sized Icedream (not a typo).  I let her hold the coupon so she could see what she was getting.

When we arrived at the drive-thru, I placed my order and went around to the window for pick-up.  I rolled down the window, put out my coupon, and waited.  The girl came to the window with the ice cream and said, "You can go ahead and hold on to your coupon.  You are our 100th customer today so your order is free."

As we drove off, I told Addie, "Jesus loves you, Mama, and He wanted you to have this ice cream. He let Mommy keep the coupon so I can get you ice cream another day." We thanked Jesus together.

As parents, we try to teach our children of the greatness and awesomeness of our big God.  Let's not forget to teach them that our big God cares about them and the little things that are important to them.
